How to apply

Step 1: Ensure no creams, moisturizers, or oils are on the skin before application.

Step 2: Apply nipple covers. This is recommended as an extra precaution.

Step 3: Cut several different lengths of tape.

Step 4: Begin applying from underneath one breast and working your way up while focusing on lifting. Instead of peeling off the entire backing before application, peel as you go.

Step 5: Tailor to your liking! Trimming is easy so make sure you get the hold you need.

Step 6: Repeat on the other breast.

How long should I wear

FIRST TIME USERS

If you have never worn tape before please wear it for only 3/4 hours to introduce tape to the skin. Do this for a meal out & drinks for example, not a warm summer event like an all-day BBQ or wedding which is likely to last longer. Wearing on the skin which is not used to the tape for longer than advised can cause irritation and risk of the skin overheating and injury may occur.

WARMER WEATHER & HEAT

Chances of the skin overheating and water blisters occurring rise in warm weather and may happen for a small % of users. Please limit time to 3 – 4 hours if you are inside or outside and do not stay in the direct sun for long. Do not sunbathe in the tape. Stay in the shade to avoid over activating the heat activated adhesive. Body temperature can rise very quickly even when in the shade or inside on a hot day or in warm stuffy environments. Please be aware of this.

EXPERIENCED USERS

Wear until you are comfortable.  Some find this is 12/13 hours some 8 hours etc – you know your own skin sensitivity. Experienced users can also experience skin overheating so please read our warm weather use wear time guide above.

USERS 50+

Aging skin may be prone to marking more easily due to the outer skin layer (epidermis) becoming thinner and elasticity is lost so we recommend that users aged 50+ wear for a limited time of 3 hours then at first and then build wear time gradually.

• Excessive wear time of 12 hours may cause more pulling to the skin leading to irritation.
Wait 72 hours before wearing another set of our tape.

Are there any skin safety tips?

SKIN SAFETY INFORMATIONPREVENTING BLISTERS 101IMPORTANT SKIN SAFETY INFORMATIONAlways follow our wear time guide ( located in our menu ) and build up wear time with regular use. Adhesive tapes can in certain circumstances cause blisters and skin irritation. We outline all possible risk scenarios and explain why this can happen to ensure that you are well informed before use and can avoid any irritation to the skin and have a safe wear.ALLERGIC REACTIONS

Our tape is free from zinc oxide & latex but if you are sensitive to adhesive, acrylic, elastane or similar products such as band-aids (plasters),

DO NOT USE

IF YOU ARE PRONE TO HEAT RASHES

Or skin getting hot and red, please be extra vigilant and do a test run of only 1-2 hours.

If you are unsure of any allergies do not use the products and consult a doctor first if uncertain. If rashes occur due to allergic reactions The Boob Studiocannot be held responsible and it is the user’s responsibility to ensure safe use and read all information provided before continuing with the product.

RED MARKS/BUMPS & SWIRLS:

This is normal, Skin sensitivity can differ from person to person and on rare occasions where irritation occurs, users may experience temporary redness, raised bumps which are not painful or slight skin discolouration on occasions after use and they can be in a swirly pattern because of the tapes adhesive backing in-print (the in-print is also prominent when the user is wearing fake tan as the adhesive will strip the tan). It is normal to find redness or darker marks after removing the tape this occurs as the tape stimulates blood circulation to the area making the pores appear pink or darker. This is temporary and will fade as the skin cools and when the adhesive is removed from the skin (exfoliate gently after use). Bigger busts may experience this more due to the weight of the breasts, If you start to feel any itching it may be a sign that your skin is overheating or getting hot.

FRICTION BLISTERS – HOW THEY OCCUR

WHAT ARE THEY?

When skin becomes too warm or friction and strain has occurred under the tape,  Miliaria Crystallina also known as “Sweat Bubbles” much like a blister on the foot can occur in the form of blisters on the skin filled with water which look like beads of sweat or bubbles. Pores will release more water/ sweat to keep the skin cool if friction has occurred from over stretching the tape or if the body is getting very warm. This excessive perspiration occurs more in warm weather/ stuffy environments and wearing tight clothing or tapes can increase this. When you go to peel the tape away from the skin after this occurs, the small raised beads on the surface of the skin can then tear open when the tape is pulled away from the skin resulting in abrasions where the skin is left open from the water bubbles which have formed. Skin grazes are as a result of the friction bubbles which have formed below the tape during wear which then subsequently open from the pull of removing the tape. Following our wear time guides, keeping cool in warm environments and making sure the tape isn’t strained during application can help minimise this risk of irritation occurring.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I GET THIS

This type of injury will mark the skin but will not usually penetrate enough skin layers to cause scarring unless the tape has been miss used against our advice. Like ordinary foot blisters they can take a while to fade and during the healing process they can appear a light pink/lighter shade to your skin, especially if you had a tan at the time of the irritation.

They tend to occur at the very top edges only due to being on a thinner part of skin where the tape has been anchored down. This area tends to catch the sun more/get warmer and where you have perspired more. It is also the part of the chest where the tape has been secured down and if the tape is straining this will create the friction bubbles. The marks if occur are similar to that of a foot blister and will sometimes follow the shape of the tape outline, please take care of your skin if this happens. We ask that our customers take extra care when wearing our tape during the summer and follow our wear time guide and application advice to help avoid friction, strain and overheating which can all lead to friction marks/ blisters.

HOW CAN I AVOID THEM?

1. TEST PATCH YOUR SKIN FOR Skin Allergies/ Sensitive skin

-Always perform a patch test 48 hours before use. If you experience any itching, irritation, burning or discomfort, remove the tape immediately. This may indicate an allergy. By using a test strip you can see if you're allergic to the tape in a controlled area so it will easily be able to be treated and to heal.

2. DON’T OVER STRETCH OR STRAIN THE TAPE

This method can lead to skin pulling & friction which can lead to blisters. When applying always support the weight of the breast with one hand whilst applying the tape with the other to secure your breast in place. Don’t let go and then stretch and pull the tape up to lift the breast. If you experience irritation & skin grazes only to the very tip of where the tape was, this is a sign that the tape was over stretched when securing down onto the skin and it has caused tension to the skin at the top where it has held the weight. If wearing our Original tape make sure you have worn the correct size as per our size guide, wearing a size too small can also cause strain & pull.

3. DON’T PULL HIGHER

Than the fleshier part of the breast tissue or this can cause strain and injury to thinner areas like the collar bone. The tape should never be applied to the centre of the chest where skin is thinner and never near the neck. The breast lift tape especially our Original style tape should be applied to breast tissue and the fleshier breast area a few inches below the décolletage and collar bones.

4. DON’T LAYER THE TAPE UNLESS YOU'VE USED IT MANY TIMES

This may cause the skin to overheat or cause rubbing & friction resulting in blisters. Apply tape next to the last layer not overlapping. We never advise to apply tape under another layer of tape especially our box tapes as this will cause skin to overheat. Sweat cannot evaporate through layers of tape & this results in water blisters forming on the skin due to overheating. Injury occurs as the blisters will pull and leave open wounds when the adhesive is pulled off of the skin.

SKIN OVER HEATING & WARM WEATHER

Please be extra vigilant if you are choosing to wear the tape to daily events in the summer, on holiday or in the sun like weddings, BBQ’s, races or festivals. Follow our wear time guide for warm weather.

Blisters and abrasions from sweat bubbles can occur when the skin overheats underneath.

1. DON’T APPLY TO SUNBURNT SKIN

Or skin which has been exposed to the sun for long periods from sunbathing as the skin will be warm and sensitive.

2. SUNBATHING/ SWIMMING

Users MUST NOT sunbathe in the tape at any costs or sit out in the sun wearing the tape during hot weather as this may increase the chances of the skin becoming too hot. If choosing to swim in the tape please ensure you are not exposing your skin to hot direct sun for too long.

Customers who choose to wear the tape in warm weather, outside in the sun, or warm stuffy environments such as clubs or crowded events must be aware of all risks of the skin becoming warm whilst wearing the tape.

If ignored you may experience blisters.

How do I remove boob tape?

DON’T TEAR OFF FROM DRY SKIN

You risk irritating your skin and causing injury and pull.

USE OIL OR OIL BASED PRODUCT TO REMOVE

you can use coconut or baby oil. Apply around the edges of the tape to help dissolve the adhesive when removing to stop any pull. Oil-based is better as this will dissolve the adhesive.

START FROM THE BOTTOM

and pull up gently taking it slowly whilst using your other hand to press down on the tape to stop any pull. Do not peel down and against the skin.
